Applications Available for Grant Money to Individuals and Organizations through Operation Round Up®

Tough economic times often mean tough times for charity. Fortunately, Jackson EMC members participating in Operation Round Up® are helping through Jackson EMC Foundation grants. Individuals and nonprofit organizations may qualify to apply for grants. Tell your friends and neighbors about Operation Round Up and how they can make the most of a Jackson EMC Foundation grant.

Any individual or organization in the counties that Jackson EMC serves may apply. These counties include Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Franklin, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, Lumpkin, Madison and Oglethorpe. Organization applications should target program support. Examples of causes covered by these grants include human need; education and development; family enrichment; literacy; health education, awareness and advocacy; and medical or disaster-related emergencies. Individuals and organizations may receive only one grant award from the Foundation each year.

Go to www.jacksonemc.com/roundup to learn more about Operation Round Up and to download an application. You can print and then complete the application or complete it online and print it. Usually individual grants are limited to $3,500 while organizations are limited to $15,000; however, the Foundation board may make larger awards if they believe they're justified.

If you volunteer for an organization or know of one in need, encourage the organization to apply. The same holds true for individuals.
